As the largest school of Nanhua College of Industry and Commerce, the School of Information Engineering and Business Administration is made up of the former Department of Computers and the former Department of Management. The school now has 10 programs, with more than 20 orientations, and 2800 students on campus. The school is equipped with more than 20 on-campus laboratories for specialty and simulation training. The school is dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary talents in both the fields of business and information technology.
The school attaches great importance to cultivating the student’s professional skills and providing them with opportunities to broaden their educational opportunities. Students have won prizes in national and provincial competitions and in addition, the program boasts an employment rate of over 98%.
The school has also established long-term cooperative relationships with many well-known companies, including Bluedon of China, TESCO, 5 zol E-commerce Co., ltd. Shenzhen, LBX Pharmacy, Taobao University, Seebon (China Human Resource Supplier), etc.
Key Programs of Nanhua College of Industry and Commence
1. Program of Computer Network Technology (May continue the Bachelor’s Degree courses in South Korea)
Founded in 2000, the Computer Network Technology program is one of the first 6 key programs in Nanhua College of Industry and Commerce (NHCIC).
Features
This program features its “project-oriented” teaching system and students are encouraged to study and work with pride and team-spirit. During their 3 years' of study, the students are required to finish 4 simulated projects which are designed to cultivate their professional ethics and abilities in a simulated working environment. This will mentally and professionally prepare the students for their future employment.
Teaching Team
37.5% of the teaching staff are professors. Among the teaching staff, 87.5 % have obtained at least a Master’s Degree and all teachers have “dual-skills” certifications. The team specializes in many fields of computer network technology utilizing sound industry knowledge and a varied age structure that enables the team to undertake high level research projects.
Practice Facilities
More than RMB 3 million has been spent building 8 training centers to provide the students with professional practice facilities which are more advanced among the same programs in other colleges.
Education Reform and Research
The program chaired 2 provincial and ministerial education reform projects and 32 research projects in NHCIC. Also the program has cooperatively participated in 2 research projects in the Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences. 14 college textbooks have been published, one of which is listed as the “11th Five-Year Plan” textbook. In addition, there are 34 unpublished textbooks used on-campus and 6 textbooks have been published in cooperation with Bluedon Information Security Technologies Co.,Ltd. The program has 2 college-level excellent courses, 1 key course, and an additional 5 courses currently under construction.
Cooperation with Enterprises
An order-oriented program tailored for Bluedon Information Security Technologies Co., Ltd was initiated in 2011. Students in this program contract and work in the Bluedon company and work in the corporation before graduation. All students who are recommended to Bluedon by the college will have the chance to be employed full time by the company.

2. Program of Business Enterprise Management (May continue the Bachelor’s Degree courses in South Korea)
Founded in 2001, the Business Enterprise Management program has 3 specialties, Chain Management, Franchising and Self-employment, and Foreign Enterprise Financial Management. Since 2006 the Business Enterprise Management is one of the first key programs in Nanhua College of Industry and Commerce.
After 10 years of development, the Business Enterprise Management program has become the core of teaching and scientific research in the School of Information Engineering and Business Administration. Since 2009, the department has carried out an innovative teaching reform in the model of the “work-study” combination and training base construction, putting forward “All processes into practice”. It also has conducted teaching activities with the focus on professional core competency and is currently exploring the teaching patterns of liberal arts.
Taking advantages of the enterprise cluster in the Pearl River Delta, the program is well equipped with 2 student supermarkets in the Qingyuan and Huangpu campuses, ERP sand table simulation training center and market research training rooms are also available. The program vigorously seeks to develop long-term cooperative relationships with many large chain enterprises, including Mopark, Renrenle Commercial Group, Junhe Communications, B&Q, China Resources Vanguard, etc. Thedeep cooperative relationship with Renrenle Commercial Group especially provides opportunities for students to apply what they learn in the classroom in real working situations. The program has formed a model of “work-study combination, school-enterprise cooperation”, which is a typically found in higher vocational education.
The program has a strong teaching team, including 4 professors and associate professors, and 20 lecturers and all teachers are “double-qualified”. Additionally, there are experts with senior professional titles and business leaders in related fields working as members of the Professional Guidance Committee and part-time professors in the department. In recent years, the teaching staff of the department has compiled 10 textbooks and published over 40 academic papers.
The employment rate of the graduates has amounted to over 98% in recent years. In 2010, 88% of graduates held double certificates. The graduates from the program are popular and well recognized by employers, with many outstanding graduates being employed by well-known enterprises in the Pearl River Delta. Some graduates have successfully started their own business; while others have opted to further their study in comprehensive universities.
3. Program of Marketing (May continue the Bachelor’s Degree courses in South Korea)
The Marketing program was established in May 2005 and approved to be one of the key programs by NHCIC in 2010. So far it has produced over 700 graduates and currently has over 400 full-time students. The program ranks highly in terms of employability with a tremendous demand in the workforce, maintaining an employment rate of over 95% every year.
Currently, the Marketing program has 3 specialties, Commercial Broker and Surrogate, Automobile and Real Estate Marketing and Media Marketing and Management. Theses programs were designed by teachers and marketing specialists.
The majority of the full-time teachers in this program have an industrial background and are professionals in their respective field. Over 80% have master’s degrees or doctor’s degrees with “double-qualified” certifications and 20% are professors or associate professors. Additionally, top quality marketing experts are often invited to give lectures, seminars and training courses. The department possesses a professional full-time and part-time teaching team of varied educational and corporate backgrounds which ensures students to be exposed to a wide range of educational material.
The program aims to train well-rounded and highly-skilled professional talents capable of market development, market planning and marketing management. Students learn to adapt to regional economic and social developments, master marketing knowledge, basic marketing methods and practical skills for different kinds of enterprises in the Pearl River Delta and Guangdong Province.
In addition to the diploma, students can obtain a corresponding occupational qualification certificate according to their own interests. These certificates include the Marketing Qualification Certificate, Human Resources Professional Certificate, Certificate of International Logistics Specialist and the Certificate of Accounting Professional.
The program attaches great importance to the student’s practical skills. It has set up market research training rooms and ERP sand table simulation training rooms on campus, and other off-campus training bases in enterprises like Wahaha Group, Junhe Communications, Dong Fang Hotel and TCL which provide the students platforms for the practical application of theoretical knowledge.
Students of this program take an active part in a variety of marketing competitions and have won many national and provincial awards including: third prize in the China Marketing Competition, the second prize in the Moonbasa Fashion Marketing Competition for college students in Guangdong Province. Students also have been awarded the “Best Sales Promoter” award and scholarships by Wahaha Group, a testament to the student’s education.
